Tracey is a registered manager at 220 Preston Road, a residential care facility that homes nine vulnerable adults with learning disabilities, autism or complex behaviours and needs.
In her role as a registered manager, Tracey ensures the centre delivers care and support that is tailored through individual care plans to people’s needs and preferences.
Tracey said:
“The information that’s captured in those care plans are individual to that person. It’s about their choices, their wishes and their needs. Our staff focus on how to carry those out.’’
Tracey describes the role in the video below.
220 Preston Road also feel it’s important their residents engage in the local community. Tracey said:
“We do this by visiting local cafes, shops and the Freedom Centre in Hull.”
“What we do is we make that link first so we’ll go visit and make sure it’s accessible. Then we will have a taster session to make sure they like it. We want them to have as normal a life as possible.”
